    Key Material and Quality Details:

    • BRONZE
    • Hand cast using traditional lost wax method (see below)
    • Polished then antiqued and develop patina

      • Bronze naturally develops a patina over time, which can be embraced or polished away. Avoid harsh chemicals, pools, and lotions, which accelerate tarnishing

        OUR CLEANING ADVICE
Patina: We do an antique finish and encourage the bronze to develop a patina.
So best not to clean our pieces with a dipping solution or polishing cloth made for silver, as it will affect the patina.
HOWEVER – removing the patina returns the bronze to its original high shine, but it will eventually tarnish again – which in the case of Bronze, gives it its character:)

        Cleaning Methods

        • Mild Soap & Water: Mix mild dish soap with warm water, soak for a few minutes and dry thoroughly.
        • Buff with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners and excessive scrubbing to maintain the darkened or aged look
        • Dry Completely: Moisture is the primary cause of tarnishing, so always dry pieces thoroughly before storing
        • Avoid: Toothpaste or abrasive cleaners, or any which can scratch the metal.
        • Polishing Cloth: We do not necessarily recommend using regular (made for silver) jewelry cleaning cloth as that will change the patina of the bronze.

        Lost Wax Casting
Lost wax casting, also known as “investment casting,” is the process by which a single metal object is cast from a wax model. It is a highly versatile process that achieves exceptionally detailed results.

        What is lost wax casting?
Lost wax casting builds a mold around a sacrificial wax model. After the mold investment is set, the wax is melted out and forms a cavity where the metal or glass flows in. Using this method of casting captures fine details in both metal and glass. This ancient method has been used since 3000 B.C. to visually capture the stories of ancient cultures and religions throughout history.
