THE VISION
To be independent artists – and make our living through art and music.
Proud of her Welsh heritage, and being a part of that living tradition as a contemporary artist – Jen determined to create original designs that expressed her love of mythology and symbolism.
The vision – to create a sustainable publishing business to market Jen’s original Celtic Artwork, and for Scott to focus on his jazz music.
IN THE BEGINNING..
Welsh artist Jen Delyth came to San Francisco from the UK in 1985.
She started DRYAD GRAPHICS in 1987 – which soon evolved into KELTIC DESIGNS in 1990 with partner Scott Silverberg.
Keltic Designs by Jen Delyth began with a small line of black and white silk screened Tshirts, cards and serigraph prints.
1990 - Our first event! The Haight Street fair - San Francisco
Our introduction of Jen’s artwork to the world – was the HAIGHT STREET FAIR in San Francisco in 1990.
The positive response was more than we could have hoped for. An immediate success!
The rest was … and is… history as they say!
ON THE ROAD
The small business started in an apartment in the Haight quickly grew – soon joined full time by partner Scott Silverberg
Back in the day – Keltic Designs could be often found at local festivals and events.
The Haight Street, Castro and Union Street Fairs in San Francisco. Whole Earth Festival in Davis – and the incredible Irish Arts Foundation Music Festival at Fort Mason. Remember that!
Touring to the Oregon Country Fair in Eugene, and the Seattle Scottish Highland Games in Enumclaw. And of course the Scottish Games and Gathering – Santa Rosa CA – now in Pleasanton CA.
the JOURNEY
From black and white to color
In 1993 Scott began working full time with Jen and in 1996 Keltic Designs Inc. was established in San Francisco.
Focussing on producing and marketing the Keltic Designs by Jen Delyth Brand primarily through stores and catalogs, with a few retail boutique events.

Back home in Wales, Jen’s family also took an interest in showcasing Jen’s work at festivals in Wales – such as Pontardawe Folk Festival near our home town South Wales. Although retired, they enjoyed doing other festivals across Wales, Cornwall, and even attended the Glastonbury music festival!
Scott’s retired parents Pearl and Seymour Silverberg enjoyed putting out our wares at events in Florida.
TRADE / GIFT SHOWS
Keltic Designs was growing so fast, that soon it was full time designing, making new products, printing catalogs for stores,
and traveling to the bigger TRADE SHOWS such as the New York Gift Show, Atlanta, Vegas, Los Angeles,
and of course the San Francisco Gift Show.
Jen also attended the Welsh Crafts Trade Show back home in Builth Wells.
Exciting Times!
After 9/11 things changed quite a bit, and online shopping becoming more universal.
Scott continued doing some Celtic trade shows, and Jen continued to create new artwork and design products.
After two decades or more... in 2010 Scott and Jen dissolved their partnership but not their friendship.
Scott created Celtic Art House to continue the wholesale business, and focus more on his West Side Jazz Club in San Francisco.
Jen moved to Oakland with poet/performer Chris Chandler - returning to her roots as a studio artist, forming Ninth Wave Publishing LLC and Celtic Art Studio.
NINTH WAVE PUBLISHING - dba CELTIC ART STUDIO Jen Delyth & Chris Chandler
In 2010, Jen Delyth and Chris Chandler joined creative forces and set up a partnership – Ninth Wave Publishing LLC – to manage both of their publishing enterprises.
Jen continues to develop her Celtic art/design lines, and Chandler his poetry / performance work as THE CHRIS CHANDLER SHOW.
Working closely together they publish both their written and visual works, setting up Celtic Art Studio events – often during Chandler’s wider touring as an artist/musician.
They created video productions under Bald Tire Productions – collaborating on short music videos for The Chris Chandler Show, and other musicians.
Together they published books of both Chandler’s poetry, and Jen’s mythic Celtic Art.

Since 1987, artist Jen Delyth has illustrated and designed a wide range of books, textile products, stationary.
Celtic Art Studio is home of her Celtic Mythic Line
The Horse was loved and worshipped by the Celtic people. Horses decorate bronze, gold and silver objects as creatures of grace, intelligence and beauty. Horses also serve as solar symbols, embodying the sun’s divine qualities of strength and fertility – and golden Celtic Coins were often minted with images of the Horse, and solar symbols such as the wheel..
