THE ANCESTORS
The first people are our Ancestors. They lived close to the earth and wove their fabric of reality through Tree and River, Dragonfly and Wild Boar, with tales from the beginning of time.
Myth and Memory are channelled through artists, poets and storytellers: it is they who hold the knowledge of our ancestors.
This is a Living Tradition
with ancient roots reaching back to the first people.
MYTH AND MEMORY
Characters of myth and memory spiral, meander and weave through time, which echoes with their riddles and contradictions. To know them, we must accept some of what we do not always understand, and allow the mysterious to speak in its own enigmatic way, feeling our path to the center – to the still heart of the turning triskele.
Elements of the traditions of those who lived in comparative balance with their environment, may inspire us with their perspective and insight
THE NATURAL WORLD
In our world today, where environmental concerns are crucial, the balance not only between man and nature, but within our own psyche, is becoming increasingly complex. We have shifted from an earth-centered perspective to a more intellectual theology centered on man. Many today are redefining their spirituality, developing new perspectives to understand our place in the world, within a living Universe
Although much of the lore was kept hidden,
the Artists and the Bards – Poets, Musicians and Storytellers
– wove mystical elements within their words and images.
AOIS DANA
Creativity and insight are the gifts of the Aois Dana, the Poets who guard the fountain of knowledge. The Celts honored their poets and bards, their artists and storytellers as the keepers of memories. It is they who manifest the essential wisdom of the tribe, which is woven through their complex tales and tellings.
The old memory is kindled through the songs and prayers of the
fishermen and farmers, mothers and weavers, the priests and the poets.
This symbolic language contains the seeds of articulation from the first people,
and continues to evolve into our time.
Through the motifs of myth, the deeper truths are illuminated,
leading us intuitively into the otherworldly realms of our psyche.
